The LMI is your central point of contact for lean management and lean thinking in German-speaking areas. Our lively and informative network is open to anyone who is interested in lean management, and in particular to our members.

Idea

The LMI was established as a foundation in 2004 by Dr. Bodo Wiegand. Its goal is to develop and optimize the lean management concept and its tools in theory and in practice in order to open it up to companies and institutions in every sector.
In particular the LMI team is involved in:

	Further development of lean management in theory and in practice
	Transfer of lean management methods to other sectors as well as to maintenance, service and administration processes
	Spreading lean thinking in Europe by means of a variety of activities
	Provision of a forum for exchanging know-how and experiences in the application of lean management methods.

Network

The LMI belongs to the  Lean Global Network and in this way participates in the global exchange of current developments, research and practical experience of companies and institutions.
The Institutes belonging to the Lean Global Network were set up as non-profit organizations to develop knowledge about lean thinking and to promote its application and dissemination.
